I wanted to share a quick update on the reduced frequency of posts recently, and likely for the next couple of weeks as well. The main reason is that I’m fully focused on my final report for my machine learning course. It’s a major project, much like writing a formal research paper, requiring a lot of effort, time, and in-depth study. My group and I are working on a mental health corpus, diving into topics like text processing with TF-IDF and Word2Vec, dimensionality reduction with PCA and LDA, clustering with K-Means and GMM, and classification using Logistic Regression, SVM, MLP, and RNN models. Though the report will be written in Vietnamese, I plan to cover it extensively in English on this blog once it’s complete, possibly across multiple posts. Right now, my other courses, while interesting and led by inspiring lecturers, don’t align with my current goals, so I’m not able to devote as much time to them. This report project will likely continue from midterms until the final term, meaning my post frequency will remain low for a while longer. But I’m excited about what I’m working on and hope to produce something I can be proud of. No matter the outcome, this will be my first formal research, and I’m committed to giving it my best effort. Once the report demands ease up, I’ll return to my regular posting schedule—I have many planned and even half-finished posts that I can’t wait to share once I have the time.

Note: after further analysis, we’ve decided to rework the content of our research:

  • Feature Extraction:
    • TF-IDF
  • Analysis / Visualization:
    • LSA
  • Clustering:
    • K-Means
    • GMM
  • Classifiers:
    • KNN
    • Random Forest
    • Logistic Regression
    • MLP

I don’t think that this really undermine our previous intention, rather, i think it indicate growth and the willingness to change in order to benefit the research topic in the best way possible.
